Antenatal Clinic

These are held by appointment with our midwife, Nadine Beale, or any member of the midwifery team.

Appointments are made by phoning the central booking line on 01923 217347.The initial ‘Booking-In’ appointment  is a longer appointment (approx. 1 hour). Thereafter, you can have ‘Follow-up’ appointments on either a Wednesday morning or a Thursday afternoon.

We offer shared care with Watford General Hospital and carry out most of the ante-natal clinics with the delivery itself being conducted by the Hospital staff.

Cervical Smears

These are advised for women between 25-64 years. This can be carried out by the practice nurses preferably on day 10-14 of your cycle. You will recieve a recall every 3 years

Child Health Surveillance

All doctors are registered with the Practitioner Services to perform child health surveillance services to ensure well-being and development of the under 5’s. This is carried out in conjunction with a Health Visitor. Our practice nurses carry out Childhood Immunisation Clinic’s every week, by appointment.

Family Planning & Morning After Pill

All doctors and Nnrses have special training in Family Planning. Doctors are also available for Morning After Pill which is effective up to 72 hours after unprotected sex. Contraceptive pill checks are carried out by our healthcare assistants.

We usually run open clinics which are advertised in the surgery and on this website.

Travel Advice

A full range of advice, tablets and immunisations are available. If you book a last minute holiday, please be advised that the majority of vaccinations for far-flung destinations need to be completed 4-6 weeks before you travel. There is a charge for some of these. For advice, or to begin your course of vaccinations you must make an appointment with the practice nurse. Further information is available on the above tab.
